History

	1700 to 1800's
1707	In the Act of Union, England and Scotland were formally joined as the united kingdom of Great Britain.
1719-1720	Many investors lost their money in the South Sea Bubble.
1756-1763	British armies defeated the French, winning control of most of France's North American empire in the Seven Years' War (also known as the French and Indian Wars).
1775-1783	Britain lost the American Colonies in the Revolutionary War in America
1798	Britain suppressed a rebellion in Ireland.
1801	An Act of Union formed the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.
1805	Horatio Nelson won the Battle of Trafalgar, ending the risk of an invasion by Napoleon.
1807	The United Kingdom abolished the slave trade.
1815	Britain and its allies defeated France in the Battle of Waterloo, ending the Napoleonic Wars.
1832	Parliament passed the first Reform Act, giving most middle-class men the right to vote.
1833	Slavery was banned throughout the British Empire.
