Hanover
The best way to see Hanover's tourist attractions is to follow the so-called Red Thread, which takes you on a 3 mile journey around the city and pasees such attractions as the Hanseatic red-brick churches. There are also great beer halls to visit and taste some of Germany's best, or you wouldn't be in Germany.
Hanover has also become known as the host of two massive trade fairs, Cebit and Hanover Messe, but it also offers some great shopping opportunities.
Getting there
By air
Hanover Airport (HAJ) is 7 miles north of the city. S-Bahn S5 runs between the airport and the main railway station every 30 minutes and takes 12 minutes.
By rail
The Hauptbahnhof (Central Station), the most modern in Germany, adjoins the city's bus station. Hanover has direct rail connections to Hamburg (75 minutes), Berlin (90 minutes), Frankfurt (2 hours 15 minutes) and Munich (4 hours 30 minutes).

By road:
Hanover connects to Hamburg, Berlin, frankfurt, Cologne and Munich and on to Brussels or Amsterdam.
All main German cities are serviced by Eurlolines and tickets can be purchased at Deutsche Bahn (representative agents), which you'll find in main railway stations. If travelling by private car, you'll find information on the German motorway network at autobahn-online.de.
