The Marge & Jim adventure
They set off on 16th April 2007 for a 15-month spin around the world
And they're off. After all the packing, the 'goodbyes' began with a night out for friends in London, and rounded things off in Lincoln, where Jim's parents live. There was a band to send them off in style and everything!
I suppose its safe to say that most of us spend a good number of hours of each week of our lives day-dreaming about packing it all in - the job, the house, the furniture...everything.
Its probably also safe to say that most of us lack the guts to go any further than that.
Marge (aka Margarida) & Jim (aka Bill) are two thirty-somethings who decided that day-dreaming just wasn't enough. So they packed up their jobs and furniture, and took off to see the world for 15 months. No concise plans. They're simply planning to be where they will be when they get there!
On Monday, 16th April 2007, they took their first flight out from London to India.
Now its 15 months that will take them all over India, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, the Philippines , Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, and a few in-betweens.
Their first message came thru via email as soon as they arrived in India. They said :
Hi all - just a quickie to let you all know that we have eventually made it to Mumbai. Got to airport to hear we had been upgraded!!! Bonus. How many travelers start their trip on business class?
Our flight was delayed but it didn't even bother us as we were too busy scoffing the free wine and cheese and biscuits! (Typical I know!) Had a proper sleep on plane because of individual seats that allow u to lay down!
Anyway...will be in touch again soon. Just wanted to let u all know we had a great send off and arrived safely.
